Renowned for the quality of its cartoons and illustrations,
The Oldie has put together a one-day course to help readers develop their talents as illustrators of their own diaries, travel journals or yet-to-be-published books, or as caricutarists or cartoonists for their own greetings cards. Beginners are especially welcome.
Artists
Peter Bailey, Martin Honeysett and
Bob Wilson will take the workshops and act as one-to-one tutors throughout the day. Richard Ingrams will give a talk with a slide-show of the highlights of
The Oldie Book of Cartoons.
9-6pm £175 inc lunch, all tuition and refreshments and VAT.
To book your place (numbers strictly limited to 18 places),

Memories are very much part of the
Oldie repertoire - our columns
I Once Met and
Memory Lane featuring items from readers who are invited to dip into and share their past with the public. Memoirs are also an increasingly popular outlet - private publication being easier than ever before.
In order to help you brush up your memoir-writing skills, we have brought together writers
Melanie McFadyean, Jeremy Lewis, Alexander Masters and Sara Wheeler - along with agent
Andrew Lownie for a one-day course at the East India Club in London's St James's Square.
9-6pm £175 inc lunch, all tuition and refreshments and VAT. To book your place (numbers strictly limited to 24 places), please call Charlotte Fairbairn on 0207 436 8801.
