It is a very unsettling time and we cling to each other for comfort and reassurance. We continue praying for our Prime Minister and all those who are unwell and of course for those heroes of everyday life who are helping to keep our country going.

Today I choose a traditional prayer attributed to Saint Augustine, who lived from the years 354 to 430.

Watch, dear Lord with those who wake or watch or weep and give you angels charge over those who sleep.

Tend your sick ones, O Lord Jesus Christ, rest your weary ones, soothe your suffering ones, shield your joyous ones, and all for your love's sake.
