Industrial New York – in Greenwich Village

Blog | By James Fletcher | May 21, 2020

This photograph shows the former warehouses, now residential accommodation in the West Village, which stored products and produce. In the foreground, the black metal hoarding shows where the old railway line would have traversed a small bridge to the next warehouse. The train would have stopped under the building for loading/unloading before continuing onwards. New York has a fine record of repurposing their older buildings for homes, retail, and tourist attractions such as The High Line.
