Sir Philip Pullman best-selling author
The brilliant Sir Philip Pullman is our Oldie pin-up this week.
He remains one of Britain's finest storytellers, blending fantasy, philosophy and adventure to bewitch readers for decades.
Best known for the His Dark Materials trilogy, in an interview he confided that his daemon would likely belong to the family of birds that steal things (magpies, rooks etc.). He would be particularly pleased if his animus were a raven, for their acrobatic and daring flight.
Sir Philip will be celebrating his 78th birthday this coming Saturday (19th October).
We raise a glass to you, Sir!
