Wine expert Helen McGinn addressed The Oldie Literary Lunch today, telling us her story – how her love and knowledge of wine started at her university wine club, to working at her dream job as the wine buyer for Tesco, and now becoming one of the hosts of Saturday Kitchen Live on BBC One. Helen made The Oldie audience laugh when reminiscing about her column The Knackered Mother's Wine Guide which was mistakenly named by the mothers at her childrens' school as The Naked Mother's Wine Guide - 'not to do with me!' Helen reassured us.
Full recordings of all speeches will be available soon on www.theoldie.co.uk
