Oldie Literary Lunch Recording - Prue Leith on Being Old...and Learning to Love It!

By Neil Spence

At the Oldie Literary Lunch, Prue Leith talked about her new book Being Old...and Learning to Love It!.

She revealed that she never really understood the doubles entendres on The Great British Bake Off. After one contestant baked a cake in the shape of a beaver, Prue was given a beaver cuddly toy by a fan shortly after. She said she's never been one of those old ladies who are keen on 'hugging their beavers'.

Prue talked about the joy of finding love with her second husband, John Playfair. She once said she hadn't found him on 'Geriatric Tinder' - a name she'd made up - only to be inundated with requests from older fans asking where they might find Geriatric Tinder.
