At The Oldie Literary Lunch, Sarah Vine spoke on How Not to Be a Political Wife, wryly declaring, “I am the Lady Gove because neither my ex-husband nor I could be bothered with putting in forms.”
Reflecting on life in politics, she said, “It’s about a messy world, a messy person — me — making all the mistakes and errors of judgment I can. Words on pages — that’s how I make sense of the chaos.”
Sarah also opened up about the personal toll of Brexit: “Brexit had cost me my friendships, my sanity, and my marriage. The morning after the Brexit vote was my tower moment — I fell from the top of my tower.”
She concluded, “I need to get all this chaos out of my head and into a book.”
